I’m Sheila Madonia-Maberry, an MFA writing graduate of Albertus Magnus College, where I’ve been diving deeper into my craft. I’m a poet and a writer of microfiction, short stories, and—hopefully—a novel or two. I’ve been published in poetry journals in both Connecticut and Missouri, bridging my creative roots between where I studied and the place I call home.

I’m also knee-deep in crafting my debut short story compilation (spoiler: there may or may not be Earl Grey, honey-fueled late nights, and emotionally reckless characters involved).


My stories are shaped by a life lived across multiple states, but Missouri is the thread that ties them all together. From winding highways to quiet backroads, the people and places of the Midwest—especially the Show-Me State—appear again and again in my work.

    However, querying is a two-way vetting process: while you evaluate an agent's communication style and career vision, agents are actively vetting you as a business partner. They look beyond standard submission guidelines for professionalism, coachability, reliability, and market awareness, seeking an author they can build a collaborative, long-term career with.

  • What Happens After You Sign?

    After signing, we prepare your launchpad by polishing your headshot, bio, logline, and buttoned-up manuscript, conducting a thorough review to ensure the story is market-ready. 


    From there, we draft a tailored publisher pitch, target select acquisitions editors in strategic batches—such as three per round—and take your book to market. When editors show interest, we navigate acquisitions boards, negotiate contract terms and advances to protect your rights, and help guide the long-term direction of your writing career.
